Kolukkumalai
Kolukkumalai is a small village on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. At an altitude of 7130 ft or 2170 m above sea-level Kolukkamalai Tea Estate is the highest tea plantation in the world.

Eravikulam National Park
The park which is also known as Rajamalai National Park, situated just 24kms from our Homestay, was a hunting preserve for the British planters and was owned by Rajamalai and Eravikulam during the British rule and then was forked over to Kannan Deven Hills for tea plantation. Later the area was declared as sanctuary with an objective of protecting the indigenous population of Nilgiri Tahr (most endangered mountain goat) when founded in the year 1975 and was then upgraded as the national park in 1978.

top station
Top Station is located around 32 km away from Munnar, on the Munnar-Kodaikkanal road, at a height of 1700 meters above the sea level. You might feel like being among the clouds here. And on a clear day, you can get a bird’s-eye view of the valley and admire the beauty of Munnar.
A trip to Top Station also allows you to visit Palani Hills Wildlife Sanctuary and explore its wildlife. Kurinjimala Sanctuary, known for the rare Neelakurinji flowers, too, is en route. Amazing tea plantations, gorgeous waterfalls and a winding trip among the mountains are the few other reasons which make Top Station a place worth visiting.

Kundala Dam
Kundala Dam is Asia’s first Arch dam and offers some fantastic boating experiences. Row boats, pedal boats, and Kashmiri shikara are available to tourists at a reasonable price.
The dam is built on River Periyar, and it is surrounded by the green Western Ghats mountain range. The area also has Cherry Blossom trees, which flower twice a year, adding to the beauty of the place.

Lockhart Gap Road
Lockhart Gap Munnar is located 20 km away from Bhaskar Homes, near Mattupetty on the way to Munnar-Madurai National Highway. You can have a great panoramic view from this point and get a bird’s eye view of the surrounding serene mountains and lush green valleys. The picturesque cloud laden hill terrain is mystic and a must-see on the list of best things to do when in Munnar.
The hilltop here offers some amazing views of the tea plantations and the valley around them. During the evening when the whole surroundings get illuminated in the basking orange glow of the setting sun making it prettier.
